Your best bet for tackle bait and sound advice in your area is gorleston tackle. have a rummage around my web site http://www.fishing.thesiliconworkshop.com under trip planning/bait for a link to their site, which will give you their address and phone no. together with other local stuff. I've always found them really helpful and their rig prices are very competitive. Dogfish will take any old crap , but if you look them up on Wikipedia their quoted diet is crabs, prawns & shellfish, a bit like smoothounds. Bass again are greedy little devils and can be caught on most common baits like worms , squid and mackerel , but they do have a bit of a preference for peeler crab and sand eels - so guess what they're taking at the moment ? You're living near a great little beach , you lucky chap and the wreck at gorleston another great spot is just around the corner. Good luck with your new interest and you'll find the crowd on this site very helpful. Feel free to fire any questions.

Neil

There's a book called "The Fox Guide to Modern Sea Angling" written by Alan Yates - shore edition. ISBN 978-0-9549238-5-3. It's £12-99 and is worth every penny. It's completely relevant to sea fishing in this area and based on real world experience, can't recommend it enough. Failing that get yourself in front of the TV and watch all the fishing programmes on Discovery Real Time !!

Cheers, Neil
