Fishing Orford Ness this weekend - never fished it before and was wondering if anyone could tell me how it's fishing, best bait, best time of tide to fish etc or any other usefull info???
Also, can someone let me know the number of the ferry/boat guy that takes you out there (Peter I think?). Does he go out at set times or is he dependant on tides?
Any help would be much appreciated. |

You need to book places with Pete before you go mate and he'll let you know when he's going over- its usually 7am (ish) and mid afternoon when he comes over to pick the day session boys up.
His name is Peter Merrin on 07900230579 or 01394450169
Oh yes- be warned- apparently the Council have doubled the car parking charges to £8.00 for 4 hours or more (Pete will be able to confirm) |

| Was over last Friday, parking is the same, it says £8 but it is still £3 if you are fishing the island, they do not advertise it as everybody would claim they were fishing, Pete will confirm on the phone or boat for you. |

| My mate spoke to Pete who advised it was completely "dead" so I didn't make it in the end and fish a local venue insted which was also dead! Has anywhere fished well up the east coast this weekend? Need to source a venue for next Saturday..... |

Hello Fiend,
The Humber estuary fished well on Sunday night, Codeye had 3 Cod, 2 at 3lbs and 1 at 5lbs+.
They were caught at Immingham, at the yellow cross on blow and black lug. ( still waiting for him to post a report ) |

the parking attendant there confirmed to a mate on Friday that it's £8 for 12 hours and over - no exceptions for anglers- Pete is apparently trying to make alternative arrangments- also the Council will be putting double yellows on the road in the new year to stop people parking for free.
Full details are available on another well known site. |

Aldeburgh is still fishing pretty well - from the brudenell hotel all along the dirty wall - best not fish too near the groynes as it can get a bit tangly - 5lb cod being caught regularly - 14lber caught on the dirty wall last week.
well worth a try
