Hopefully off to Hengistbury Head at weekend, but have never fished it. Popular view on this forum is the groyne, but where is it? Checked google but cant make out too well. From Mudeford is it across on ferry, walk past beach huts till point?
Also whats the baits or techniques that are doing well?
appreciate any input

I went sea fishing for the first time there a couple of weeks back. I caught a few Garfish float fishing 4ft deep on mackerel strips (another fella caught mackerel using the same). Otherwise I caught wrasse on lugworm using a ledger rig. Others caught a couple of small bass too.

As for the groyne, its here: (damn ms paint is rubbish ;-) )

I caught the noddy train for £1-2 each way. but you can walk or cycle down the noddy train route, then push your bike across the sand, or tie it up and walk from the huts.

Good Luck
Mike

hello

yes the gates close at 10pm. but if you park further back then its fine big grin . just cast a little weight out with a size 1/0 hook on with some wrag and you will catch some nice sized wrasse. winking big grin also float fishing can be good there. i have seen people float fishing and me ledgering and i have caught more. and sometime it has been the other way. crying

good luck!

Thanks lads
great map Mike. Ever considered working for Ordnance Survey (or a GPS Sat Nav company). No, on 2nd thoughts I understood it too easily and wont turn right into a ditch like my sat nav once told me.
Will give all advice a go and let you all know how I get on
