shockleader top tip

After I lost the insert on the tip ring on two rods I thought to myself there has to be a better way to do this.
I found a product used in Carp fishing.....
and also on the well known auction site
its heat shrink tube.....
what I did was cut a piece 2 cm's long and slipped it over the knot. Its low temp responsive so you only have to hold it in the steam of a boiling kettle.
Problem fixed............. and you dont get that distinctive " snicking" sound as it passes through the tip ring.

ok sounds a good product, personally i would replace tip rings.

also can you use it in a beach situation,ie: when have to put on new shock in the middle of a freezing cold windy night,or would the steam from a thermos flask be sufficient to "shrink" the tubing?
