is there any point in me buying special bait cotton or will usual sewing cotton do the job? cheers

the baiting stuff is not cotton it is elastic so no i shouldent think sewing cotton would do the job but i might be wrong

The idea that the material is elasticated is so it pulls your bait inwards and so fixes it firmly to the hook for both presentation and aerodynamics. I dont know if you could achieve that with cotton. at a guess I would say bait elastic is probably cheaper than cotton anyway

yeh, think i'll just use bait cotton, its not the price thats annoying its just trying to get to the local tackle shop big grin cheers guys

if you have a haberdashery nearby,sewing shop!!,they might have elasticated cotton winking and possibly abit cheaper as it hasnt got the word "fishing " on it
