I am is whats known as an overhead thumper and not yey got around to pendlum or otg casting as yet.I currently use a FS reel and was wondering about getting a multiplier, would I see a difference in distance even if overhead thumping (I will get around to practicing a pendlum or otg)?

Well I can't really answer that but I do know that you are likely to see a significant distance improvement just by moving to OTG. I made the change about three years ago and my distance went up by 30 - 40 yds within a week or so. I now do an "airialised" OTG most of the time which is pretty simple to master and is actually pretty close to pendulum. I can do a simple version of pendulum but prefer to stick to the OTG because a lot of my fishing is done after dark and OTG with a FS reel makes life a lot simpler.

Yeah why not, let's hope the weather is kind - will touch base again sometime on Friday. Great to hear that you are making a few bob not always so easy these days.
