Hi all,

I am thinking of replacing my old boat fishing broomsticks (1975 vintage) and also buying another 14ft beachcaster to go with my Rovex Big Boss.

I have noticed that in the Fishtec catalogue they have a TFG Banshee rod with 3 tips :- rated at 10lb, 20lb and 30lb.

Similarly, they have a Banshee 14ft beachcaster with 2 tips :- rated at 2-4oz and 4-8oz. Both rods cost around 70 and are made from nan-tec blanks (whatever that is!). Plus, for an extra 30, they can be paired with a TFG multiplier (boat) or fixed spool reel (beachcaster).

Does anybody have any experience with either of these rods please? Are multi-tip rods a good idea or do they necessarily compromise on performance.

On the face of it they seem to offer all I need for a reasonable budget (I am a pensioner so am not looking for cutting edge performance). I would like all top of the range rods, but my budget (and my wife) prevent that! Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Geoff happy happy happy

Hi
I am looking at the 14ft banshee at 70, I have heard that the tips are being broken quite regulley, I can't decide between the banshee or the new sonic sks also at 70. Both have good reviews.

Hi Mark,

This morning I placed an order for a 14ft TFG Banshee beachcaster with 2 tips (2-4oz and 4-8oz), which is coming as a combo with a TFG Delta GT 10000 fixed spool reel. Together they cost just under 100, which I thought represented good value. Fingers crossed that I have made a good decision lol!! I will post a review once used.

Cheers, Geoff happy happy happy
