A few weeks ago i brought some White Rag. It came in a sealed bag with water in. I got them on a Fri morning ready to use on a Sat eve but when i got there they had all died. My question is, whats the best way to keep them alive, as ive just ordered some more for a Fri delivery and Sat fish?

Get a cat litter tray with some sea water in. Just enough to cover them slightly. Then keep them refrigerated, should last a week winking

Well they should not have been sealed IMO Simon - they would have died from lack of oxygen......

White rag can live for months in a fridge if kept at a constant temp and you look after them changing the water regularly, removing any dead worms- they shouldn't really die overnight- though as FF says they should have been transferred to something like cat litter trays in the fridge

Where did you buy them from out of interest? a tackle shop or bait digger? you dont often see white rag for sale

I would use on line baits a lot more but being 40/45 mins from the beach its not possible. My missus has a marine tank if I cooled the water would the salinaty be the same to keep worm alive for a while ? (call me mad I dont mind lol) big grin

The salt mix in a marine tank might be too rich for white rag. Hard to get the right mix that the sea will have to offer sad

depends how many whites you've got- I've got three fridges full with 20 odd in each tray - the effort I've gone to in getting them means i want to keep them alive longer than 4-8 weeks Though you're lucky keeping them all alive in that time without changing the water- didn't any of your whites purge a bit turning the water brown?
