The beach was deserted. A few, short hours ago this intimate sweep of shingle and sand thronged with bucket and spade wielding hoards, determined to enjoy the last vestiges of summer. Now all was still, the acrid smoke from a fading BBQ a lingering echo of the days tumult.
The last fingers of daylight crept across the western sky as the dying sun came to a watery end. To the east, a full moon floated above the glassy sea. It was time to get to work.

Well done mate on catching that cracking Mullet. I'm hoping to have a go this weekend with my fly rod at Hill Head......that reminds me I must check the tide times!!!!

Shortened version of the diary started again this month. Next months account is about mullet which run the rivers in Wales and the month after that about an early morning session at the start of this week with a new fly pattern, resulting in two cracking mullet and a 7lb Thornback.......yes, I did say THORNBACK. Full report will be in the issue coming out in mid-December.

Not sure how a sweep of shingle can be intimate happy but nice mullet.
