For those of us who live now where near the sea what is the best bait that you can pick up from a supermarket?

hi robie
I`m in the same position
Uncleaned squid is ok,as is mackeral, herring and sprats, uncooked king prawns also work(black ones)
I tend to buy my squid and peelers from the chinese supermarket,as it`s cheaper
If you know when you are going fishing phone a tackle shop in the area and pre order worms(give them a couple of days notice),I do.You can also get frozen bait from tackle shops but, once again, expensive.
Normally if i`m away for more than one day,I take my pump and get my own worms for the following day/s,that is cheap
I know how you feel
Cheers Darren |

| This is a bait that I have recommended time and time again. It is and always will be a killer bait for plaice and flounders. It will outfish rag, lug, squid and peeler crab on ocassions. keith |

Make sure they are not cooked as they will be useless also dont forget bait elastic. Transporting them I found the easiest way was to shell them and put them in a plaastic screw type container with all the juices. This you will find dont take up a lot of room in your tackle box or haversack. keith |
