[/b]I was told the other day by an experienced angler that it is always best to freeze your catch for a couple of days before eating as this gives it that nice flaky chip shop texture, Is this true or is it best eaten fresh batting eyelashes

All the freezing does is firms the fillets,when defrosted they keep together better for cooking winking

And kills any worms they may have,if froze whole

some people i know will keep a couple of cod fillets in the fridge for a few days first before eating,but it may be a generational thing (over 50+s)

i guess once youve tasted fresh theres no going back,but yeah everyone is different,i prefer fresh myself,or next day at the very latest.unless i freeze fresh.
