dont no if this will help but i just found a cheap way of using ear buds on rigs as tubbing or like a boom to keep from getting tangled just take the cotton off and slide on line perfect ive been using jhonsons ones but you can gget them in pound shop

I like it, with a running ledger rig with a grip lead sinker, I used to get the snood tangling around the wires of the gripper. Finally cracked it by threading the first few inches of the snood through an old piece of lighting cable from which the copper conducter wire had been removed. 'course you will need to hold it in place with a crimp of some description.
