High folks have just bought a tip tornado match and am undecided about it. Good point very good casting rod 150 yds with 6 oz + bait (measured). BUT has a very stiff tip if you try to tighten up to put a bend into the tip you tend to pull the lead out, I am surprised this rod is sold as a match rod as a small flattie or whiting has no chance of showing on the tip at range. I have had whiting and doggies on it so far but the bites were so faint that it was a case of was that a bite or the wind? The rod is very stiff but smooth casting when wound up, definitely NOT a casual/beginners rod, A overhead thump is ok but similar distances can be achieved with cheaper softer rods. If you pendulum cast its great and can blast leads a long way into strong head winds. I think the super match is the better rod for bite registration but I have not cast one of these yet. The rod is very slim less than 1 inch at the butt and has some feel to it when casting. Summing up 90% casting, 10% fishing rod a pure distance tool.
