Daiwa Millionaire 7HT

Post by jce » Thu Dec 22, 2005 2:38 am

Does anyone use this reel? How does it compare with the Penn 525 mag and the Abu's for fishing and distance casting?

This looks like an intereting reel and wondering if its worth adding to the arsenal.

For clean beach venues the 7HT millionaire is a marvellous choice of reel,it can attain great distances(from those who can cast a bit). The only thing that lets it down is those fiddly little paddle handles. A new version is out in the new year and yes you've guessed it Daiwa have decided to stick with the same paddle handles!!!!!!!!!!

i agree wiv denzle, the handle lets it down otherwise very user friendly.
mines had eight years hard use with no probs.

i have a pair of them 7hts and have had no problem apart from the small handles you will just get the feel of them when casting in the dark theres no need for a level wind on a reel they just get in the way cheers steve

Nothing wrong with the handles-admittedly I prefer the rubber gripped paddles to the original plastic grips but these reela aren't built for cranking in big fish through kelp- stick a huge big handle on it, crank away and it'll disintegrate- pump the rod instead of cranking- if you want a reel with a cement mixer handle go for a penn.
