I've never heard of this reel so can't comment on it- however the fact that hardly anyone has heard of it would steer me away from it. There are plenty of older ABU 6500 CT's available second hand and to be honest there's really nothing wrong with the new ones either. Stick to tried and tested reels especially if it's your first multiplier- spares are radily available and because they've been around so long there's a fair few people around who can repair them and offer good advice on setting them up to suit you.

The Akios 6500 reels are very similar to the ABU's - I've tried them and so far no problems.

Wise decision-just make sure you maintain and look after it and it should last you years
