Hello to all again.
Just got myself an abu garcia 6500 ct mag hi speed and I am wondering if I will be able to use it straight from the box so to speak or it is worth giving it a clean and oiling the bearings before fishing with it ? Also, does this reel come with the brake blocks already fitted or do you have to fit them ? I ask because I cannot find any info on the instructions as to whether the blocks are factory fitted or not.Just wondered if anyone had any advice for me.
Cheers and All the Best !! :)

Always worth cleaning the bearings of factory oil and re-oiling for best performance but no problem using straight from box.

The Hi Speed mag has a six plastic centrifugal brake blocks already fitted so you'll have to open it up to see if they're engaged- if all six are engaged the reel will run far too slowly- although that might not be such a bad thing - it'll depend on your casting ability.
