crab eating crab?

Post by hoops76 »

i heard recently that crab wont eat crab,
is there any truth in this?
i thought the little sods would eat there own mother if they had the chance.
has anyone got any ideas {except floating beads and staying at home} to stop getting my baits nailed by crabs?

cheers
john :)

You could try float fishing if its practical where your fishing.

I would suggest those bubble floats that you can part fill with water so that it either just floats or sinks slowly so as to give the fish a chance.

Hope this helps
Cheers keith :D :D

Try a little bit of polystyrene above the hook about 1 cubic centimeter in size for bigger baits. Much cheaper than floating beads and just as effective. :D
Other than that, take extra crabs for bait because they wont last long if fished flat on the deck, crabs definitely are canibalistic.
