can any fish be used as successfull bait or only the fish that is generally preyed on by the target fish?
i ask as i have a collosal salmon i boght from tesco for next to nothing, and although i'm gonna make a nice meal from it, not all of it will get eaten, so was wondering if i could use some of the uncooked scraps for bait?
or should i just make and freeze some posh fish cakes?
graham
what fish???

why dont you buy yourself a trap get them on ebay for a decent price.
Any fish I catch that are over sized or from tesco ha ha ha once I have filleted them I freeze the head and guts and use them as trap bait last summer got quite a few crabs and sand eel's in the trap I used.
This year think am going to use traps a bit more and see what I can pull up in there and on the line.
